Welcome!

Iā€™m Kayvon! A professional doctor and amateur game developer with a passion for education.

This site is my hub for access to my education projects, writings and other resources. I have a lot of projects that are in parallel development and make intermittent updates to currently available projects. So this site is also a place for staying updated and supporting the work I do!

 FAQs

  • I am a board certified internal medicine physician who currently works as a hospitalist. When I was in residency I learned to program in the Godot engine, a free and open source game engine. I came up with an idea to utilize Godot to build a tool to help me teach medical students blood gas interpretation. That turned into my acid base game, which now has given rise to all the content in the Med-Ed Arcade

  • It is a collection of games and modules I developed that target medical learners. They include topics like how to assess acid-base status, how to interpret a right heart catheterization, and more! If that seems interesting to you, check it out!

  • Yes! I am a big believer in free and open access education tools. However, if you are interested in financially supporting the work I do and help cover some of the hosting costs and the caffeine that fuels these projects please consider donating!

  • That is the illustrious Dr. Owlbert, the character I created as the teacher and mentor in my educational games. He became the natural choice for a site mascot and logo.

  • Currently these are solo projects. I handle all of the coding and development of the educational content. I do have an artist who has helped with some of the assets. You can check out some of his other work here! If you have interest in contributing, get in touch!
